To Spill My Guts Or Not To Spill My Guts?

I know it's been a while since I've written a blog or updated my few fans, but I've been keeping busy this summer. Now that I have a free moment I figure I'll write about the things that have been keeping me preoccupied as of late. I"ll try to keep this breif, but we'll see how that turns out LOL

1) My jobs: For most of the summer I've been plugging away at my gov't job & working my retail jobs almost every other weekend. Things are okay at the gov't job, but I will say it's very much a hit or miss job. Some weeks can be very productive with me clearing a good # of disability cases, while other weeks I'm bogged down doing follow ups or reviewing medical evidence. It also doesn't help when the claimants are difficult & don't want to attend examinations or I have to play phone tag with them to see if they've filled out whatever necessary forms etc.... Like I said before, this is not a job that I really want to do for the rest of my life, but for the time being it keeps me well paid & out of trouble LOL. As for my retail job, I'm pretty much done with it. After a five years of working at that place, I figure I've had enough. I'm really not making that much more $ and to tell the truth the past couple weeks have just been horrible. For example, other coworkers have been obnoxious, I've been working long hours, & just my heart hasn't been into the job. I've submitted my letter of resignation a few weeks ago & this weekend will be my final weekend. I'm definitely looking forward to this extra time & the idea of having my weekends & holidays free.

2) Yoga: Since this spring, I've been taking Yoga classes 2 times a week. Although I've never been much for working out or going to the gym. I have realized that I'm not getting any younger & I needed to incorporate some sort of work out routine in my schedule. I've always been fascinated with Yoga & have enjoyed it the few time in which I've dabbled in it. Anyway, one day I just made a point to stop by my nearest Yoga center & just register for classes. One might say the $200 plus might be a bit too costly for classes, but seriously the piece of mind is so worth it. I've learned that not only is Yoga a physical workout, but it's also a mental workout as well. After a stressful day or work or being cramped in my cubicle, Yoga is a great way for me to relax & destress. Also, the physical results are starting to show & I do think my body is starting to shape up nicely ; )

3) Books: In addition to the comic books that I follow on a regular basis, I've been reading some actual books. Without writing up a huge synopsis of each book, I'll try to be as breif as possible. I've been reading Hal Urban's "Positive Words, Powerful Results" & the books message is that of "Mind over Matter" meaning what we put forth is what we get in return. I totally agree with his passages about how we live in a "complaint culture" & how we as a people spend so much of our time complaining about things as opposed to doing something about the things that bother us & how we spend so much of our time in negativity that we lose track of our potential or can't see the brighter side of things. Yeah, bad things will come into our lives, but it's all in how we react to something that determines which way something will go. Anyway, I"m sure I'm not doing the book any justice trying to write it up in my blog, but I do suggest reading it. In addition to Mr. Urban's book, I've been reading Mitch Albom's book "The 5 People You Meet in Heaven" . The basis of the book is another take on the after life in which the main character dies & is visted by 5 radom peopole in "heaven" & through these five people he learns about life & how the little things he has done affected these people & in turn how they helped shape who he was. With both books I'm still in the process of reading them so I'm sorry if my write up's are not the best LOL

4) Partys: Since I've spent so many years working two jobs, I'll say that I've missed out on one too many good times with my friends, but in the past year or so that has been changing. I've been taking off more time to hang out with my friends & to attned their many partys. In additon to my wonderful B-day party where I had a record of 20 plus friends in attendance (it feels so nice to be loved). I've had a blast at Allison's "Sex on the Beach" & "Casino" Partys. I also have to give mention to Rebeccca's "Pirate Party". They all were GREAT times.

FINALLY & MOST IMPORTANTLY the thing that's been keeping me busy this summer is.......

5) My relationship: I could go on forever about this one, but I'll try to be as breif as possible. I met the individual online close to a year ago & from there we just hit it off. We have many things in common such as tastes in music, beleifs, outlooks etc...., but at the same time have enough of our own personal interests. We find each other attractive : ) I feel totally comfortable talking to this person & no subject is taboo. When we hang out, we have such a great time & I wish those times would neve end.......Anyway, I think one can get the idea that I've really fallen for this person. The only real setback to this relationship is that we live 2 hours apart & therefore we don't get to see each other that often, but for the time being we've worked out a system of seeing each other on the weekends & we talk on the phone almost every night. I'm not going to bog myself down with worries and "what if" because right now we're enjoying things & whatever obstacle that comes our way; we'll address it at that time.

OK, that should be everything that's been going on in my life. I know I had intended to keep this blog short, but I guess there is truth in saying that I write the same way I talk meaning when I get started on something I never seem to shut up LOL.
